Some celebs have no intention of turning their backs on cryptos, and one of them is Kobe Bryant who’s set to promote TRON protocol.
A year ago when bitcoin reached its record value, everyone started thinking about getting involved, including A-list celebrities. We saw many celebs investing in cryptocurrencies during the bitcoin craze at the beginning of this year. Some of those included Floyd Mayweather, Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Foxx, etc.
And some celebs, like famous rapper 50 Cent, had ventured in the world of cryptos long before others. But, as the value of bitcoin started dropping, many of them have turned their backs on digital currencies. As of November 2018, the price of 1 BTC is just over $4,400, and it’s gotta hurt those who bought it when its price was over $19,000.
But, despite the drastic plummeting of the value, cryptos still keep on attracting people. And some celebs have no intention of giving up on what many people to be the future of finance. One of those is the NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.
Special Guest at niTRON 2019 Summit
The reason why we’re talking about the legendary basketball player is that the man behind TRON (TRX) blockchain system Justin Sun has announced that Kobe is going to be a special guest at one of their upcoming events. The event in question is the niTRON 2019 Summit, which is scheduled for January 17-18, 2019.
If you’re wondering why Kobe Bryant was TRON’s choice to talk at a cryptocurrency conference, it seems that no one knows the right answer. He wasn’t too outspoken about anything related to cryptos or blockchain, but he is famous for being one of the celebs that know how to make good business decisions. The news from last summer talks about Kobe’s fantastic investment in BodyArmor, a kind of sports drink, which earned him $200m on an investment of only $6m.
Another reason why Kobe Bryant is not a too-surprising pick is that TRON has a history of trying to get celebs involved, particularly those that previously had no experience with cryptos. The most obvious example is Pope Francis, who was given one TRX via Twitter. In fact, during their campaign of engaging celebs on social media, TRON team tried (and succeeded) to get a number of celebs involved, including Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, and Ellen Degeneres.
More about TRON (TRX)
It’s true that TRON (TRX) is not one of the most famous cryptos in the world today, but the man who developed it has a plan to change that. We’re talking about TRON CEO Justin Sun who’s become famous for using rather an unconventional approach to spread the word about his coin.
And it seems that he’s been doing it well so far. Considering that TRON Foundation was established just a little over a year ago, it’s fair to say that they’ve been very successful. The TRON protocol and its coin was based on Ethereum but was migrated to its own platform. It’s needless to say that the move was heavily publicized, with Justin Sun calling that date the TRON Independence Day.
